Vision Dynamics - FEI Company impressed

On Friday December 16th Vision Dynamics hosted a presentation by eight students of the Leidse InstrumentmakersSchool (LIS) and four trainees of ATMI, Java Indonesia. The assignment the students received a year earlier was to review and, if possible, revise the framework of an electron source in an electron microscope. The exactitude of the position of the source had to be within a few thousandths of a millimeter and it had to be possible to assemble the new customer friendly solution in a microscope quickly. Furthermore the temperature and vacuum demands were challenging.

The result was not only an improved concept for the framework, but also a good beginning for the production process of this new framework.

At the end of the presentations and demonstrations, Henk Tappel, manager at FEI Company, was impressed by the results and said the results were in line with future developments at FEI Company. Not only did he promise a dinner for all participants to express his appreciation, but he also promised to have a consecutive meeting with Vision Dynamics about the further development of this project with LIS.
