Easy Optics: fast and high-quality production of precision optics, ophthalmics lenses and high-quality light transmission devices.
For the production of progressive (such as Varilux) and bi-, tri- and unifocal prescription lenses, nowadays crude, semi-finished blanks are surfaced and polished. All these products need to be kept in stock. This is a time-consuming and expensive method, which also brings along considerable material losses.
Vision Dynamics sees a chance to utilise an innovative method and machine by the use of newly developed optical monomers and coating techniques. Herewith, spectacle lenses can be cast in every possible shape, in accordance with the prescription of the optician or oculist. Rapidly deliverable, optically superior, affordable and impact resistant lenses will now be in our reach. In automated production, spectacle lenses will be produced within ten minutes, provided with a full multi anti-reflective coating. Worldwide, no similar technology is yet available. The project participants expect to create an enormous market potential, when the Easy Optics-lenses can be mounted in the frames of some million spectacle wearers.
Also for the production of cameras in mobile phones, a combination of optical materials and chips, the system opens new perspectives. Production could possibly shift from manual assembly in China to first time right casting in the Netherlands. It is thus not unlikely that due to this project also a positive effect on the regional employment is expected. Further reference can be found on www.visiondynamics.nl.
